e-ink

I had been wanting to talk about the so-called paper or electronic ink for a long time and I have finally decided. The fact is that in my opinion this technology is destined to revolutionize the world of both mobile and home devices. To put ourselves a little into the situation, electronic ink is currently capable of representing static images (no movement) in color or black and white (depending on the manufacturer). Of course the novelty is that the “screen” is a little thicker than regular paper.

Added to these characteristics are flexibility and maneuverability, so to speak, they can be rolled or folded without losing their properties, which makes them very attractive on some occasions. Furthermore, production costs are not exaggeratedly high contrary to what one might expect, so much so that not long ago a famous magazine Americana took the pleasure of making a circulation whose cover was made with this material, selling it at the same price as always.

Another ingenious application is its use as a reader de ebooks, since inexperienced users would take the gadget practically like a book, to which they are already accustomed.

Finally, they could be used in the world of fashion, both electronics and textil, the latter being subject to some limitations, since a battery is necessary to make it work, although this problem would surely be solved soon by optimizing energy and reducing consumption. Electronic ink is taking too long to dare to break into the market, let’s hope that this barrier will be broken soon because it is undoubtedly a huge advance in the visual technology industry.
