We are almost at the end of January, so it is a perfect time to make a compilation of the best and worst movies I have seen in 2008. I know I havenāt seen too many, because what a movie ticket costs seems excessively expensive to me (even for students, no discounts or nonsense) for then the movie to be shit and to leave the cinema shitting on everything, feeling cheated and, to a lesser extentā¦ violated.
And yes, I anticipate that Wall-E is not included in my compilation, not because I didnāt like it as nunme wrote in this blog back in the summer, but because I didnāt think it was the best Pixar film (Toy Story and The Incredibles are very high for me) nor the worst (Cars, of course).
Without further ado, we begin to take a look at the best films in reverse order, which then touch on the worstā¦
5. Ironman
This film has been a surprise for me. It could have been a piece of garbage of great proportions, but it ended up becoming one of the best movies based on comic book superheroes that I have seen along with The Punisher and Spiderman 2. Robert Downey Jr. is great throughout the movie playing Tony Stark, the plot is not bad at all and the characterization of Ironman and the special effects are remarkable.
4. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
The return of a [childhood myth like Indiana Jones](https://bocabit.com/cine/indiana-jones-y-el-reino-de-la-calavera-de- cristal.php āReview of Indiana Jonesā) was destined to become the cinematographic event of the year, but, unfortunately, those who saw the Indiana Jones trilogy when they were children have grown and matured, and possibly expected the films to mature with them and that is why they did not like it. I did like the 90s aftertaste of the film, although if I were 13 years old I probably would have enjoyed it more.
3. Monstrous
I had been looking forward to the arrival of this film since I found out that the person behind it was J.J. Abrahams and I had many thoughts of disappointing me, but it didnāt despite the dizzying camera at times nor because of its duration, which is exactly how long it should last. I would describe this movie as riding a roller coaster, full of moments of action and suspense (The building scene gave me vertigo :P).
2. Futurama: Benderās Big Heist
The only one of the 5 films that has not been broadcast in theaters, but I still think it deserves to be mentioned because its plot is a true marvel, which at first seems simple, but in the end you realize what good scriptwriters can be capable of. If you havenāt seen it, youāre already late.
1. Batman: The Dark Knight
A true marvel that you have all surely seen. Despite being quite long (was it 3 hours?) it is capable of keeping you glued to the chair from start to finish without getting bored at any single moment. If we add to this that it is totally unpredictable, the brilliant Joker played by Heath Ledger and that it is based on the comic, the result is a great triple A.
And now we go with the worst, but this time there are not 5, there are only 3 (and I saw one of them āout of obligationā) and I donāt order them because all three seem like fucking shit of the same caliber to me.
Almost 300
I donāt remember what led me to see this movie, but I saw it, I can attest that I saw it (although I fell asleep for a while near the end). It doesnāt even deserve to be downloaded because of how bad it is. There are silly movies and movies for fools, and you may only like this one if you are in that group of people with the mental IQ of a cash cow.

This movie is the one I saw out of obligation. They played it for me on the plane returning from Mexico and of course, I had nothing else to do but watch it if I didnāt want to spend a good time looking at the position of the plane on the map (it seems that the trip takes longer if you look at the damn little screen). A bad copy of 300 mixed with The Lord of the Rings and seasoned with Stargate. You should never watch this movie if you want to remain human!
Max Payne
Without a doubt it has been, for me, the most disappointing movie of the year. When the first trailers appeared it seemed that the film was on the right track and that it was going to be faithful to the video gameā¦ but the producers, directors, etc., were not supposed to understand the superb plot of the game, so they decided to simplify it to the minimum so that their little rodent brains would not suffer some type of overflow. The choice of actors was also bad, and their acting was terribleā¦ anyway, if you want to read a more in-depth opinion, take a look at the review I published a while ago, but in short itās not worth it.
