El otro día os presentaba al Angry Video Game Nerd, sin duda todo un personaje que hará de vuestras tardes de ocio un poco más entretenidas con sus divertidos análisis. Os comentaba entonces que se hay una gran comunidad de fans detrás de él y que incluso se ha llegado a hacer **un juego de cartas suyome hizo el verano pasado el logo para el blog y que realizó estos impresionantes fanarts de Metal Slug), por lo que no tendría excusa para no reseñarlo aquí.
As I told you the other day, fans of the Angry Video Game Nerd were involved for a season in disputes with another satirical video game critic called Nostalgia Critic. I don’t know if these disputes ever really amounted to anything more than humiliating drawings towards both sides, possibly not, but they became striking enough for both critics to decide to put an end to them through a fight to the death (The Final Battle) that I leave you below.
This video (which, by the way, was really done) gained quite a bit of notoriety in certain spheres, or at least enough for a small role-playing game company, called Diving Dragon Games, to take an interest in it. They must have thought they could attract a huge host of hungry geeks with such succulent bait.
The result was the creation of a set for a card game called Geek Fight, in which, in the style of Magic cards, we must defeat our opponent using elements from the Angry Video Game Nerd and Nostalgia Critic universes. In this way, we can use (or suffer) the force of Super Mecha Death Christ or the NES accessories as best suits us to achieve our goal of becoming the best online critic of all time.
I really can’t imagine what Paco (my artist friend) must have felt when they offered him to make the cover of this game, but it seems incredible to me that he was able to attract attention on the other side of the pond for your work (I would have been touching myself for a long time). But the fact is that they contacted him, and although he was forced to retouch his drawings a little (removing the Powerglobe from the Nostalgia Critic’s hand and the skull in the background), the final result does not detract at all from the original and I would even say that it is better.
I have already ordered my set of cards and I am waiting for it to arrive, since apart from being very cool, for each purchase, God will kill a kitten. What are you waiting for?**
