Sony tried to assimilate the market that Apple currently has with its AppStore, but ignored that the mobile phone and console markets are not the same, even though at some point they could converge into one (and they will surely converge). For me, what Sony did is take a logical step in the distribution of video games by eliminating intermediaries and, incidentally, the second-hand market that companies complain so much about lately, however, it has made the mistake of not having taken merchants into account.
What worries me to a certain extent is that little by little it is being shown that large companies are showing themselves fully capable of taking on all the steps of software distribution, something that will increasingly harm small businesses and even large ones. How can these businesses overcome these technological advances, especially in these dark economic times in which we find ourselves?
