The blue balls syndrome

Perhaps it has happened to many of you, but others of you do not know of the existence of a syndrome whose name I did not know until the other day, when I saw on Makarras.org an explanatory video of the so-called blue balls syndrome. This syndrome basically consists of “getting hot” for a long period of time, in which the pressure on the sensitive areas of our body begins to be so great that it begins to hurt.

As far as I remember, something like this happened to me once during a study trip to Holland when I was 16, and although I don’t remember if they really get the “blue balls”, it is very annoying and ends up hurting everything from the belly down, which is very uncomfortable especially when you have no idea what you have.

In more scientific terms, “Blue Balls” is the colloquial term for a congested prostate or vasocongestion, the condition of temporary congestion of fluid in the testicles and prostate region caused by prolonged sexual arousal in the human male. It is often accompanied by a cramp-like pain from prostatic congestion and soreness/pain or edema of the testicles. It is believed that the symptom can lead to a blue-tinged scrotum (from the idea that blue equals pain, as in a black eye bruise, which can also appear blue).

It must be taken into account that although it may seem like a joke, in reality it is not, since it could lead to sexual problems such as Priapism. What is the solution to this problem? Well, ejaculation, no more, no less. Many times (especially when we are in adolescence) we take all these things as a joke, but we do not have to forget that we are “biological machines” and that we must take care of ourselves.
