Con el estreno en España el 12 de Noviembre despuĂ©s de mĂșltiples retrasos, me ha apetecido hacer un anĂĄlisis de, para mi gusto, una de las mejores pelĂculas de 2010.
With a totally crazy setting, it has great references to the world of video games. It seems that they have known how to mix exactly the necessary ingredients for a good movie, since it is not easy for a film of these characteristics to be acclaimed by critics. Much of this is thanks to the great director Edgar Wright, creator among others of the magnificent Zombies Party (Shaun of the Dead).
Scott Pilgrim is based on the series of graphic novels (Comics for those of my time :P) with the same name drawn by Bryan Lee OâMalley, which consists of 6 volumes. The graphic novel has been crazy in terms of sales, which produced an interest in Universal to bring the crazy world of Scott Pilgrim to the cinema. Also taking advantage of the momentum, they have also released an arcade game with a very 8-bit look for the Xbox 360 and the PS3 that is a joy. For a mere price of 10 euros, you get a game that emulates great classics like Double Dragon and Super Mario Bros. 
The plot couldnât be simpler, Scott Pilgrim is a 22-year-old Canadian boy who lives in Toronto. His life seems to be going pretty well, he plays in a group called âSex Bob-ombâ and is dating a high school girl (Knives Chau). Everything is going great until he sees Ramona Flowers for the first time, an American girl who has moved from New York, with whom he is immediately dazzled. From that moment on, the goal of his existence will be to get out with the girl of his dreams, and he will not stop until he achieves it. What Scott doesnât know is that to continue dating Ramona he must defeat her 7 evil ex-boyfriends.
And from there I donât want to spoil the plot any further, but it is a film that begins as a romantic comedy and ends as a hilarious madness.
Ramona is played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead and the truth is, although at first someone named Ramona with blue, green or pink hair is not very appealing, the actress is great in the movie.
Result: A totally recommendable film, especially for anyone who has lived immersed in the era of video games and comics. With many memorable details, such as using the music of the great Ocarina Of Time for some scene that you will surely love to discover. 9.5/10
