Fable III also confirmed for steam

This has been confirmed by Microsoft in a press release; Fable III, the third part of the successful RPG saga by Lionhead with Peter Molyneux and Microsoft, **will see the light of day for the first time on the online distribution platform Steam, in addition to the other typical means of distribution of Microsoft games.

Personal choices have always played a relevant role in the “Fable” universe, and PC players will have more options to choose than ever, knowing that they have not made a mistake with any of the options. Microsoft Game Studios and Lionhead announce that “Fable III” for Windows will be available at the same time through Steam, Valve’s distribution platform, the Games for Windows Marketplace and regular retail outlets.

“Fable III” can be pre-ordered on Steam and the Games for Windows Marketplace starting today, and doing so will have its prize**. Users who reserve the game through the Games for Windows Marketplace will receive “Fable: Lost Chapters” for free, the title with which the saga began. On the other hand, those who opt for Steam will have the “Rebel’s Weapon & Tattoo” pack, a collection of four weapons and five tattoo kits to fully personalize their rebel hero.

The Lionhead title will also be available in stores across Europe starting May 20. Players will not only be able to access the same content and add-ons as Xbox 360 users, such as “The Traitor’s Lair”, but they will also enjoy the new and challenging “Hardcore” mode and the ability to view the game in 3D, among other new features.

Fable III, which was already a bestseller on the Microsoft console, will now try to gain a foothold in PC games.
