2025 has been a good year in terms of video games, and although I donât play as much as I used to, this year I have been quite selective when choosing the games to dedicate my time to this year. Below I leave you with a list of what, for me, has been the most interesting thing of the year.
Indiana Jones and the Golden Circle
The first game I played this year. A Bethesda adventure that puts you in the shoes of Indiana Jones in what could be the best story since the original trilogy. Nazis, supernatural reels and included out-of-the-box with Game Pass.

It is available for Xbox, PC and PS5, if Iâm not mistaken.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Probably the game that has surprised me the most this year is Expedition 33. It is a turn-based RPG, developed by a French studio made up of former Ubisoft workers.
It is one of those games where the plot captivates you from beginning to end, becoming more interesting as the story progresses.
The combats are turn-based, in which you have to press the correct button at a certain time to block or deal more damage (Dark Souls style).
If I had to recommend a game from 2025, it would probably be this one.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
When I started playing the first Death Stranding, I wasnât very sure what I was going to find. I only knew that it was a Kojima game, with some super weird trailers in which babies appeared and in which Norman Redus was the protagonist. And since it was from Kojima, it had to be given a chance.
What I found was a strange game, very strange, but very entertaining in terms of mechanics - you are a delivery man - and plot. I liked it so much that I decided to buy the second part outright, thatâs nothing.
Death Stranding 2 is very similar to the first part, although it expands its universe with new mechanics and characters. Of course, finishing the first one is essential to understand the sequel, because it continues the story.

It is available on PS5.
Ghost of Yotei
Another sequel to which I have dedicated many hours. A story of saturais and revenge in Japan, which takes place 300 years after Ghost of Tsushima.
It is a game that I really liked, although its mechanics and story did not seem to me to be the most original in the world, why are we going to fool ourselves. Donât they say that if a formula works, why change it?

It is available on PS5.
Split Fiction
From the creators of âIt takes Twoâ comes âSplit Fictionâ. A very original and fun split-screen cooperative game, which also allows two people to play with a single copy of the game.
I really liked âIt takes Twoâ and I found it very funny both in terms of its mechanics and its black humor, humor that I missed in Split Fiction. Maybe this is why I think it is not on the same level as the first. Despite this, it is still a recommendable game.

It is available on PS5, Xbox, PC and Switch 2.
Spiderman 2
This is not new, but I had been waiting for it to go on sale for a long time so I could play it. I would say that it did not captivate me as much as the first installment or Miles Morales, because at the end of the day they are the same mechanics repeated over and over again, with a regular story that is not surprising. If you find it on sale and you liked its mechanics, you can give it a chance.

Here are my games of the year. I hope this article also serves to give ideas to those who are undecided about what to play.
