The fact is that a couple of days ago I received by mail the new version of Ubuntu that I had ordered a few weeks ago online. The first disappointment came when I realized that I had ordered the Ubuntu version and not Kubuntu, which is my favorite because KDE seems better to me than Gnome in every way (I donāt like having to pay attention to the bottom and top of the screen at all).
The installation went well. Like other versions, it is very easy to install and the only thing I had to be careful about was choosing the correct partitions, more than anything because they changed some things from previous versions.
The first good news I had once installed was that the sound card configured itself, without needing to do anything. Like the graphics card, the webcam and the card reader (The half-baked television card).
I havenāt been able to delve too deeply into the operating system, but at first glance it seems much more attractive than previous versions, starting with the loading screen that uses very āweb 2.0 styleā fonts. In addition, it uses compiz, which is something like a āmini Berylā, which allows you to turn the desktop into a cube apart from other quite interesting effects.
To finish, I would like to say that unlike other versions, I think this could be the beginning of a medium-low user approach to Linux. We will see in new versionsā¦
