Many of them generally do not contribute anything to the plot and are only intended to attract the attention of the buyer in a department store; rather than intros, they could be considered trailers. However, there are others that provide information about the plot, that have a script, photography and a sublime soundtrack. Here are some of my favorites. I hope you share yours :D
Soul Reaver (PSX-Crystal Dynamics-1999)
I played this game for the Dreamcast. The first time I saw this video was in one of the videos they gave away with Hobby Consolas and I still find it impressive⦠āI am Raziel, the first-born of his lieutenantsā¦ā.
WarCraft III (PC-Blizzard-2002)
What to say about this game? I was addicted to it for about 3 years, and anyone who knows me will know that it gave me a very good time, and the intro of the humans is no exception. The number of times I have seen itā¦
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War (PC-Relic-2004)
I didnāt try this game too much because in the multiplayer I was desperate having to pay attention to the strategic points to gain resources, but the intro does not detract at all from the quality of the game itself. Hosts like bread and a good fight.
Resident Evil 2 (PSX-Capcom-1998)
After the disappointing intro of Resident Evil, which arrived in Europe censored and in black and white, given the low moral content of its Japanese version (Chris smoking). A revolution has arrived for the introductions of the time with this video that completely introduces us to the plot of the game.
Abeās Oddysee (PSX/PC-Oddworld Inhabitants-1997)
Simply perfect. The truth is that I donāt remember very well why I bought this game at the time, but the fact is that it is wonderful: long, with a plot and totally engaging.
StarCraft: BroodWar (PC-Blizzard-1998)
Another great game with a great intro, even though I prefer the original because I never managed to fully get used to the new units. A perfect description of loneliness on the battlefield.
Final Fantasy VIII (PC-Square-1999)
The game is not the best despite having managed to play it in a show of boredom, but I think the intro is great, especially the music.
Little Big Adventure 2 (Adeline Software-1997)
I will always remember this game with great affection, as it was one of the few 3D games that my old 120Mhz Pentium could cope with.
Heart of Darkness (Ocean-1998)
It may not be a very well-known game since it took a long time to go on sale and, when it did, its graphics were quite outdated, but it maintained a quality plot, entertainment and enviable backgrounds.
Sonic CD (Sega-1995)
Maybe I didnāt play this game as much as I should have, since it wasnāt very pleasant to play with a keyboard and I had Sonic & Knuckles for the Mega Drive, but I couldnāt help but buy it on one of my sporadic visits to Toys ār us that gives me such good memories.
Carmageddon (Stainless Software-1997)
What to say about this game? One of the most controversial of all time and also one of the funniest. Despite what the āin the knowā may think, they do nothing but spit snakes when they speak, just saying that I never ran over anyone :).
