The fact is that yesterday afternoon I had nothing to do, well, yes. But since I had seen the two previous installments in the cinema, I couldn’t make an exception with this one to close the trilogy.
Honestly, the fact that the cinema is 15 minutes from my house also had something to do with it. What difference would it make to lose them going there? So I went alone to the cinema, bought the ticket and stood in the middle of the theater.
I had read all kinds of reviews. From people like Red Stovall, a film critic who thinks it is rubbish to people who think it is the best of the three films and the one that best captures the essence of the character, as is the case with Julian Clemente, an expert on the arachnid with the blue and red tights. I would stay in the middle, perhaps a little more on Julian’s side, since in a few words it makes me want to say the famous phrase from Casablanca: “Play it again Sam”.
The film is entertaining, like its predecessors, but if one could look for a clear difference between them, perhaps it would be that it is more lacking in morals, and at the same time more focused on action and “hosts like bread.”
It was this installment that reminded me the most of the television series (Which by the way was my favorite series for many years along with Dragon Ball), especially with the touches of humor, like when Spiderman gets the sand out of his boots.
When it came to using 4 enemies, as well as Gwen Stacy, Mr. Raimi could have committed a lot of abuses, but I think they appear correctly and fairly. The actor who plays Sandman (Thomas Haden Church, who played the bad guy in George of the Jungle) I think is the best in the movie, because I think the one who plays Venom/Veneno would have been more suitable for Matanza/Carnage, especially because of the cocky little boy voice they gave him (In the series, the one who voiced Venom was the same one that voiced Frasier…right?). The truth is that the appearances of Stan Lee and especially that of Bruce Campbell seemed really cool to me.
Pero no es oro todo lo que reluce, y, la película también tiene cosas mejorables. ¿Qué experimento se supone que realizan en una “cantera” a las dos de la madrugada? ¿Por qué el mayordomo tarda dos películas en decirle la verdad a Harry Osborn? Después de lanzarle una granada en la cara a Harry, lo menos que le puedes decir cuando vas a pedirle ayuda es “Lo siento tío,no era yo mismo”…
Many people may be struck by the “Travolta” effect that the black suit produces on Peter Parker, but to me it seemed like a wonderful nod to Raimi’s film “Army of Darkness”, especially in the way he treats women, which reminds me a lot of how Bruce Campbell does it in that same film (“I am your king baby”, I think it was something like that).
In short, I think that some nuances could have been improved in the film, but despite this it is entertaining, it has good moments (some emotional ones) and easy to understand morals (For all audiences). A good way, without a doubt, to end the Spider-Man trilogy. (Let’s see what use the next director of Venom makes).
