I don't like your music, don't make me listen to it

music-loud

I was walking calmly down the street for a while when, suddenly, I began to hear “music” louder and louder from behind. It was bad black rap, so I expected the typical black guy from the Bronx with the boom box on his shoulder and blaring music to overtake me at any moment (yes, like the Fresh Prince of Bel Air’s bad guys).

What was my surprise when I saw that the character who passed me was a kid (possibly younger than me) who was carrying a PC speaker in his hand! I did my best not to laugh, and although the scene seemed totally absurd to me, unfortunately it is becoming more and more common.

And I don’t understand what kind of subculture you have to live in to not know or not realize that by turning the volume on your cell phone all the way up in a public place we will most likely disturb others. But be careful, when I say mobile I mean any device capable of playing ‘music’, because as I say at the beginning of the post, I have already found everything. For me, there are few things that make me as angry as this practice, which is becoming the daily bread for many (those of you who use public transport in big cities will surely be more angry than me).

In the London underground, for example, they have put up signs so that people do not do these practices, but I don’t think it is of any use, not in Spain. I am increasingly in favor of making some kind of law that fines these people for disrespecting others and for playing music too loud in public places. Shall we start moving a signature sheet?
