For those who are nostalgic and for those like me who were too young to enjoy any of these games, Scumm VM comes into the picture. Scumm is a computer program that allows you to run graphic adventures originally created for the LucasArts SCUMM engine (although don’t worry, that’s how it was in the beginning and that’s where the name comes from, it now supports many more). The main advantage is that it is present for almost any platform, including an acclaimed version for the iPhone, and that it supports up to 80 games (you can find them at this link from Wikipedia)

There you have a sample of the main screen of ScummVM, as you can see, very nice and with several “mythical” games installed. Where to get the games? A quick Google search is enough since it is very popular, but if you want a sample here I leave you a pack with Monkey Island 1 and 2.
Continuing with what I said at the beginning, there are people who believe that one of the great genres in the world of video games that has fallen into disuse (with honorable exceptions such as Runaway I and II) is that of graphic adventures. Don’t be fooled by that more vintage aspect that they have and you will see how hours of fun and laughter await you, since many have a fine sense of humor.
Even if you didn’t play them at the time, even if they are very old games whose graphic quality is obviously very outdated, they were great titles in their day, very well made and thought out and many of them with a tremendous script. Feel free to try some and comment on your impressions!
