In previous chapters of bocabit.com I told you about the iPhone applications that I use and that therefore I consider them to be the best and most useful of all taking into account my needs. Something I didn’t say in the first part of the article is that I have a “jailbroken” iPhone because I use it with Yoigo, but I don’t use any Cydia or Icy applications because it seems like a pain to install them every time there is a firmware update.
I forgot to mention in the previous compilation of applications that some of them were simply shortcuts, although in all of them I explained that they were.
iFighter: Un juego de aviones que, al estilo del mítico 1942, también está ambientado en la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Tiene unos buenos gráficos, buen sonido y es entretenido. Duke Nukem 3D: Does it really need an introduction? It is the same game from many years ago, except that the control in this one is horrible. AWFUL. I put it here more as a warning than anything else. It costs €0.79. Download from iTunes Store.
Fieldrunners: Another tower game but better than TapDefense. It has cartoon graphics that make it very visually attractive. It costs €2.39. Download from iTunes Store.
Bejeweled 2: The diamond game that is on Messenger and also on many other platforms. Ideal for playing quick games with perfect control compared to the console versions. It costs €2.39. Download in iTunes Store.
TapDefense: Un juego de torres de los que se pusieron de moda con los mods de Starcraft. Fue el primero de este tipo que jugué en el teléfono y es totalmente recomendable porque es muy completo, tiene muchos modos de juego y su dificultad es bastante alta. Es gratis. Descargar en iTunes Store.
Anaconda: The snake game that comes/came with every Nokia since the 3210. It’s free. Download in iTunes Store.
Trace: This game consists of drawing the path that a character must follow, avoiding the obstacles that appear. It is neither very short nor very difficult. It’s free. Download from iTunes Store.
Cannon Challenge: A game made by Discovery Channel, which consists of calculating the firing force and altitude of the projectiles that we fire from our artillery piece to destroy enemy tanks. It’s free. Download from iTunes Store.
Dark Nebula: Mi última adquisición es un juego que consiste mover una bola a lo largo de una pantalla sin que te la destruyan o se te caiga al vacío. Es parecido a Monkey Ball pero en 2D y con una estética de naves espaciales. Vale 0,79€. Descargar en iTunes Store.
Google Earth: La aplicación de Google Earth para el iPhone. El uso que hago de ella es más bien nulo y siempre me decanto por la aplicación de mapas que viene con el teléfono. Sin embargo, resulta totalmente curiosa y funcional. Gratis. Descargar en iTunes Store.
IM+ Lite: A very useful instant messaging program that allows you to connect to Gtalk or Messenger from your phone. Despite being a Lite version (Apple does not allow demos, so they call them “lite”) it is very complete and perfectly fulfills its objective. Free. Download from iTunes Store.
Remote: Sirve para utilizar el iPhone/iPod como mando a distancia para controlar iTunes en el ordenador. Es gratis. Descargar en iTunes Store.
eBay: I installed this a few months ago when I tracked several items on eBay. With it you can see the status of the items we are bidding on, our personal information, browse eBay and send messages to other users. It’s free. Download from iTunes Store.
Flashlight: Turns the phone screen into different colors as a flashlight. I have been using this type of application since I used the Nokia N70 to see in the dark, and although this one is not as powerful, it can get us out of trouble. It’s free. Download from iTunes Store.
PS Mobile: The mobile version of Photoshop allows us to do some crazy things with the photos we take, but of course it is much more limited than its older brother. Even so, it is quite interesting to be able to do basic retouching of photographs with the iPhone. It’s free. Download from iTunes Store.
