Another year, the #FIMP is here.

This year I am not participating as a speaker. I think I speak very badly in public and that I get too nervous, especially speaking in front of people who surely know more about many more topics than me. Also, there are times when I act strangely and have “strange” gestures (ahem). But hey, not everyone is good at public speaking, some of us are predestined to remain behind the scenes.

This year is going to be very interesting, I would dare say more interesting than previous ones because there are many new things. To begin with, ECD has managed to get ESET to be a sponsor of the event, something that has really surprised me.

Some of the round tables are going to be very interesting, such as “New Projects for 2011”, “Science and the Internet” and “Our geekiest side”. Although why are we going to kid ourselves, days 2 and 3 are going to be very full simply because of all the people who come from outside Asturias and who are quite well-known in the Internet world (I’m not going to name anyone, so I don’t forget anyone).

Furthermore, another highlight is that Carballo and Bori come from distant lands expressly to get drunk at the ESET Internet Meeting Point, whom I will finally be able to dismember and devirtualize.

And hey, if myspyspot decides to do a contest to win an iPad at the FIMP ( #FIMPiPad , they call it) I’m not going to say no. But yes, simply for the pleasure of participating, because winning seems to me to be very unlikely because there will surely be a lot of competition.

If you have never come to FIMP, Kids made a great compilation with the reasons why you should give it a try this time and in which, as always, they are absolutely right in the world.

So that being said, see you at the FIMP.

PDTA: If you go, you will be amazed by the percentage of Apple computers that will be among the attendees, last year I was amazed at how sheepish we are :)
