Este viernes fui a ver Origen (Inception en inglĂ©s), la Ășltima pelĂcula del director Christopher Nolan, artificie de âMementoâ y de âEl Caballero Oscuroâ. Es una pelĂcula a la que tenĂa ganas desde que vi el trailer por primera vez, porque ciertamente, tener como referencia una joya como âEl Caballero Oscuroâ es un punto a favor.
The first thing I thought after finishing the film was that it had been worth the 5.70 euros that the ticket had cost me plus the corresponding trip to AvilĂ©s (more or less 60km). Itâs a good movie, very entertaining and doesnât leave a momentâs respite from the beginning to the end.
The plot of the film revolves around Dom Cobb (Leonardo Di Caprio), a thief who uses a rather sophisticated technique to rob his victims: entering their dreams. Cobb is hired by a fairly powerful client to make the rival company go under, but as if the matter were so simple there would be no movie, they must do it by putting an idea in the victimâs head, called âOriginâ, something that many people consider impossible since the normal thing is to steal the ideas, not introduce them.
This film has been compared to The Matrix, but beyond the fact that dreams occur when the characters are asleep, I donât find it too similar. Personally, I have found it more similar to âShutter Islandâ and âOlvĂdate de miâ. With âThe Dark Knightâ there is the similarity of the music above all, with Hans Zimmer at the baton, although in my opinion it was much worse achieved because it became repetitive.
Of the cast of actors Iâll stick with the two main actresses. On the one hand, with the Frenchwoman Marion Cotillard, who is already gorgeous on her own, but with the dresses they put on her she is to wet the bread (more) and Ellen Page, who starred in Juno a few years ago and Despite being 23, she still looks like a dwarf teenager (She was born the same year as me! Sniff!). However, I have gotten the impression that any of the main actors are expendable and interchangeable.
Inception is an original film and will be remembered for a long time for that, for its way of treating dreams and elements of the subconscious. However, for me Nolan reached his peak with âThe Dark Knightâ and it will be practically impossible to lower it from that position (A film that moves me every time I see it, it is indefinable).
So, gentlemen and scalps, if you want to spend a few euros at the movies, Origin is an excellent option if you like the science fiction genre.
