MotoGP Analysis 10/11

The game is presented with the title 10/11 like the previous version 09/10 since in principle, it comes prepared to represent last year’s 2010 championship, but in a future free update the changes that have occurred this year on the grid will be introduced. For example, Rossi has gone to Ducati, and Stoner to Honda. At the moment it is not known when the patch will be released, but hopefully as soon as possible.

MotoGp 10/11 is available since April for Xbox 360 and PS3 for a recommended price of €61.95.

Will Capcom have managed to satisfy all players in this latest installment? MotoGP 10/11

This year, one of the main things the player will notice will be that all drivers are unlocked from the beginning to race as soon as the title is entered. This is completely a success, since it is a pain for some players to have to play for hours to unlock their favorite driver.

Within the game modes, we find the typical championship mode in which we can race the entire 2010 season in the position of a 125, Moto2 or MotoGP rider, or choose to race only one circuit. Challenge mode, which is similar to old driving games in which you had to overcome checkpoints to continue racing. The multiplayer mode for 20 players and of course, as could not be missing in a driving game, the time trial mode in which we will race to beat a time.

But the main attraction of this game is not any of those modes, but rather it is the Story mode in which we will play a rookie rider who starts in a new team in 125 and who must improve in order to conquer all the categories until ending up in MotoGP. One of the really innovative things is that the story mode can be played together with another partner in split screen, said partner will run all the races under the same team as second driver and will fight for the title just like us.

Throughout the story mode, we will be offered different challenges in each lap, such as overtaking a certain driver, or reaching a certain top speed. In addition to the typical positive and negative scores according to our performance on the track: negative points for collisions or being overtaken and positive points for overtaking or following the line. Thanks to these points, we will be able to hire certain personnel for the team that will help us in our race to stardom as engineers or press managers. Another interesting point is the sponsors who will offer us contracts to earn money in exchange for being in a certain position.

MotoGP 10/11

The graphic section, although not incredible, is more than correct, since we are talking about a game that maintains 27 motorcycles on the screen during an entire race, a point well achieved, it is the sensation of speed, which becomes dizzying in the large MotoGP category with truly surprising speeds. This is achieved by blurring the sides of the screen and is a very pleasant effect to see.

The game allows us a lot of configuration for the way we drive, from light touches such as deactivating or activating the line, to even tinkering with the entire driving configuration. The game then becomes a simulator in which we do not have any type of driving aid, in this mode driving becomes very complicated, and this difficulty is only recommended for the most expert drivers. However, with the stock setting, the game is more like an arcade game where we don’t have to worry much about doing a quick run.

However, not all are good things, and for example the speed effect when crouching in a straight line in my opinion is very poorly achieved, being very unreal when we overtake almost all the motorcycles that confront us. Likewise, on the finish line, most of the motorcycles we face have a top speed much higher than ours, and it is quite irritating that they easily overtake us after bothering us in the curves.

The sound is quite acceptable in the races, with motorcycle sounds that are very successful and differentiated from each other in the different categories. However, the music in the menus is nothing to mention.

Note

  • Presentation: The season is late, although we are promised to update the drivers to the current season in a patch that will arrive soon. The game has many game modes available, and it’s a big improvement that all drivers are unlocked from the start. 7
  • Graphics: The graphics are good, with the representation of rain and speed being the most positive points of the game. 7
  • Duration and Engagement: The game will last many hours for motorcycling fans, due to the multiple game modes and the new cooperative story mode that will delight us with friends. 7.5
  • Final Note: MotoGP 10/11 is an improvement over the previous version, with a very successful story mode. But it is still far from perfect in some sections with somewhat rough driving, and certain sections that need to be polished. Additionally they should include season 11 as standard which has already started and we are still waiting for the patch. 7.2
