Revisando el Top 25 de Apps de la App Store del iPhone me encuentro en el tercer puesto una tal “Espionaje de teléfono (Phone Tracker Spy Pro)”, una aplicación de 0’79€ que prometía localizar cualquier teléfono móvil por menos de lo que cuesta el primer café del día.
The fact that it does not have images and that a Nokia N70 appears in the application icon no longer gives a good feeling, but seeing that its entire description is in Spanish except for the first paragraph, which is precisely in which it is explained that it does not work and it does not even begin with a capital letter reveals that it has been written in a hurry, probably to skip some of Apple’s quality guidelines.
The tricky thing is to start reading the comments and ratings, all horrible and rating the application with one star, but this being the case it is strange that the overall rating is 4 and a half stars. Is there something wrong with the App Store ranking?
Although the entire description of the application is a lie (a joke they will say), there is a paragraph that is really clarifying:
Get this mobile phone locator for less than the cost of your first coffee of the day! This is the app the blogs have been talking about and it’s no surprise, it works great!
Obviously the developers are taking advantage of all the news that has emerged in recent days about the localization without consent of iPhones by Apple, clearly trying to deceive users of the themselves.
Seeing this, I wonder if we have traveled to the past and deceptions have returned in the form of polytones, infamous games made in flash and x-ray applications and crystal balls. Or maybe they have never left?
Controlling Apple as it controls the applications that are published in the App Store, as a user I feel totally disappointed by finding trash like this, and I would consider it completely valid for the developer to be penalized because its objective is more than clear: to deceive users.
