From the hand of Sega we get the video game with licenses from the movie. Thor God of Thunder is now available for Xbox, PS3 for €54.95 It will also be available for Wii and NDS although it will not be exactly the same game.
Will Thor disappoint us, like most superheroes who tried to cross over into the world of video games?

Thor God of Thunder tells us a different story from the Thor movie. This is something very important since it would not be the first video game that destroys a movie by filling the plot with spoilers. Of course, many characters are represented as the actors of the film, so Thor looks like Chris Hemsworth, Loki is Tom Hiddleston, etc… Thank God, since it is not the same plot as the one in the film, we will not have to put up with Natalie Portman in her (in my opinion) totally incendiary role.
The plot of the video game is simple (I’ll try not to spoil it). After an attack on Asgard by the Jotun (ice giants from the world of Jötunheim), one of Thor’s companions is badly injured. After this, Loki eats Thor’s ear (as always), so that he can go get revenge. Thor, deceived by his brother, ends up unleashing an evil that should never have been revealed. To save the Asgardians, Thor must cross 4 worlds in search of a way to trap evil again.
The story will take us to different well-differentiated locations, such as Jötunheim, the world of the ice giants, Muspelheim, the kingdom of fire, or Asgard, the kingdom of Thor.
Our main ally will be the hammer Mjolnir, which will allow us to perform 3 types of magic (Wind, Lightning and Earthquake), and various combinations of attacks. In this aspect Thor God of Thunder is very similar to God of War, since the player will finish off the enemies using different combinations of buttons that will perform different combos on the screen. We will also face bosses much larger than Thor in which we will have to perform predetermined actions to kill them that will end in different very attractive animations.
Throughout the story we can improve different skills that we prefer, through a skill tree, in which we will spend our Valor points. These points can be earned by killing enemies or through different challenges that the game proposes, such as: Eliminating X enemies by grabbing them or destroying X enemies of a certain type.

The game is not spectacular in terms of graphics, but it delivers, although somewhat fair at times. Sometimes small drops in framerate will be noticed, which the player will perceive as slight jerks. The sound section is good, although the dubbing of the game is terrible, for example, Thor’s voice is quite mediocre (in this it is similar to the movie).
The adventure will last us about 10 hours, although I have to admit that the game is quite complicated, with several parts in which it will be easy to get stuck. The battles against the final bosses are also difficult until you get the hang of the mechanics to eliminate them.
Note
- Presentation: The story is original and entertaining, and it is appreciated that they did not make a short cut of the story of the film.7
- Graphics: The graphics are very fair, the game sometimes stutters at times. 6
- Duration and Engagement: The game lasts about 10 hours, which is a good length for a story. But the game offers us little replayability once its story is over. 6.5
- Final Note: Thor God of Thunder is a good attempt at how to make the game out of a movie. It may not be perfect, and it may have some flaws, but the end result is quite pleasant and will keep you entertained throughout its story… 6.5
