The truth is that I donât really know how to define this movie. It is not a âhorrorâ movie in the strict use of the word but rather a parody, a tribute to all the teenage horror films of the late 90s, which also provides the occasional scare.
In âThe Cabin in the Woodsâ two parallel stories are told that are related from a very original and unexpected point of view; so unexpected that you donât know what the hell is going on until well into the movie. One of these plots draws directly from âScreamâ or âI Know What You Did Last Summerâ, while the less you know about the other before watching it, the better.
A film whose main objective is to entertain. And he succeeds in spades.
