Ayer fue el 60 aniversario de la Organización Europea para la Investigación Nuclear, más conocida como CERN, uno de los centros de investigación más importantes del mundo. En él se inventó la web a finales de los años 80 y hace unos años recibió el Premio Principe de Asturias a la investigación científica -quizás os suene de algo el Bosón de Higgs-.
In a few months, in addition to all that, it will also be my workplace. If someone had told me a few months ago, I wouldn’t have believed it, but the truth is that I have been interested in expanding my professional horizons for some time and this seems like a unique opportunity that comes at an ideal time for me.
Looking back, I realize all the steps I have taken to get to this point, not all of them easy. If it hadn’t been for my girlfriend, who supported me through some difficult times years ago, I most likely wouldn’t be writing this post now. Considering it as an individual achievement seems selfish to me and I’m not going to do it, even more so when there are many people who have positively influenced me: family, friends… When you reach a goal you have to know how to recognize that the merit is also yours.
Really, you could say that it all started with this blog (which has now been 8 years old) and the interest in learning little things about WordPress and programming, culminating (although there is still a long way to go) with the Master in Web Engineering that I am finishing to specialize in this whole world. On January 16, 2009 I attended my first Beers & Blogs, organized by Carlos Urioste, who offered me the opportunity to do my first “web jobs” and introduced me to Juan García, who has also been my boss for almost 3 years at Adama Web, is above all a friend who has helped me improve in my profession, gain experience and face situations that have helped me improve as a professional and as a person.
