Season Finale: Heroes

Now it’s the turn of Heroes, which for me is the revelation series of this year, both for quality, for script and for “addiction.” The following text contains spoilers for the entire season, so if you continue reading it is at your own risk.

As if it were a Star Wars “freaks” meeting (A kiss for the “freaks”), all the characters gather in the middle of a square in New York, Sylar included. There he catches Peter by surprise, but thank goodness Nikki is there to rescue him. That’s when Peter starts emitting more lights than a Chinese woman on a Saturday night. Hiro appears out of nowhere and stabs Sylar with his sword (Sylar is able to stop 5 of Parkman’s bullets but is not able to stop Hiro, who is screaming towards him with a sword).

Then Peter tells Claire to shoot him, that as soon as they remove the bullet he will live again, but she refuses and tells him that there has to be another way. Of course there is! His brother arrives, saying, he takes Peter flying and explodes in the sky. If Nathan died we would be facing a truly idiotic ending, because Peter has Regeneration! and it would have been enough for Claire to have shot him.

We already knew how it was going to end, not because it was obvious, but because it was seen in the first chapters. We knew what was going to happen, not how it was going to happen, and the truth is that it seemed like the most absurd ending of all (although not the worst). Although as I always say: “If you don’t see how a character dies, it’s because they don’t die.”

My verdict: Absurd, but okay. Let’s see what the second season has in store for us.
