And he totally deserves it, because this season has been totally great, especially after a third in which Queen Amidala’s assistant became increasingly annoying and ended up boring (a little). The psychopath of the season is Arthur Mitchell, who I remembered for being the extraterrestrial father from “Martian Things”, and although at first it is strange to see him in a role completely opposite to that of the comedy series (and naked) he ends up becoming an almost 2 meter tall, intimidating and threatening character. Brilliant.
But it’s not that the other seasons don’t have charismatic murderers, who, as I say, have all seemed that way to me in their own way (special mention to the English one, who apart from showing meat, had a special touch). What it seems to me is that Dexter has been maturing as a series little by little and the writers seem to have wanted to carefully bring it to the final situation in which it is now, after the end of this fourth season, opening a range of possibilities for each and every one of its characters.
I have been told that the books, apart from being much darker than the series, have different events, and it seems to me that if the shots of the next season go where I think they are going to go, things are going to happen that will dislocate more than one.
In short, if you have some free space in your busy schedule and you decide to fill it by watching a series, Dexter is a magnificent alternative, one of those that hooks you more the more you watch it.
And in case I haven’t convinced you, I leave you some examples that the series exudes quality.
