Hace apenas un aƱo estuve a punto de abandonarlo porque estaba empezando a dejar de resultarme gratificante lo que hacĆa, porque entre otras cosas, las visitas no hacĆan mĆ”s que disminuir. Un aƱo despuĆ©s, ocurre todo lo contrario: las visitas suben y yo quiero escribir, pero no puedo porque tengo que dedicar tiempo a otras cosas.
Between the day before yesterday and yesterday, if you have tried to enter the blog, you probably couldnāt, and my beloved hosting decided to suspend my blog without any prior notice due to a high CPU load and the only possibility they offered me was to move to a dedicated server. After considering the pros and cons of switching or crying to them a little, I opted for the second option despite the balance having tipped on the side of the dedicated server. The reason? I am currently paying $70 a year for my hosting, and if I changed I would pay almost the same monthly.
Battle with the hosting has been quite hard, both because I had to do it in English (the server is in the US) and the technicians from the security and suspension department worked from 09:00 (which means I had to be offline all morning). Additionally, allowing a single IP to access the server for optimization and maintenance is not very useful when your ISP provides you with a dynamic IP.
I have been forced to deactivate or āpostponeā some features of the blog to reduce consumption and so that there are no compatibility problems with caching plugins. I suppose you canāt have everything, but really they are small limitations that I will be able to re-implement later without problems.
Sooner or later we will have to go to a dedicated server, but we have to think about whether the higher expense would be accompanied by noticeably better features, services and content in line with the new surcharge, something that I donāt think would happen. I apologize for the possible new cuts, but we must be careful.
