Últimamente me está dando por los zombis, lo sé, pero por suerte es un vicio mucho más sano que otros, como por ejemplo beber el líquido de una batería de coche. Hoy le toca el turno a Dead Set, una miniserie británica de apenas 5 capítulos de media hora que se puede ver en apenas una tarde y que hará las delicias de los aficionados al género.
Dead Set is not a typical zombie series - well, yes - but the context it presents to us is more original than playing naked cricket with a flamingo. A horde of zombies invades the world while Big Brother takes place and the inhabitants of the house continue living (at least for a while) oblivious to all the chaos happening outside.
In the series, apart from zombies, we are shown what the production of Reality Shows is like behind, with all its network of cameras, mirrors, operators and, of course, the typical bastard and pedant producers who would sell their soul for one more share point.
Sobre los no muertos, decir que la serie rebosa gore por todas partes, pero sin caer en lo cutre y haciendo que muchas escenas parezcan totalmente reales y por ello podría resultar un poco desagradable para ciertas personas (nenazas). Como viene siendo habitual en las películas de zombis desde hace algunos cuantos años, los zombis no son zombis, son infectados al estilo de 28 Días Después o [REC], que en mi opinión provocan situaciones mucho más estresantes que los clásicos “bobos”.
Special mention deserves the characters, who could perfectly pass for Big Brother participants (in fact, some of them were real contestants in the British version) becoming as irritating and hateful as in reality.
In 2 and a half hours you can watch all 5 episodes of Dead Set, so if you like zombies and hate Big Brother, you have a great opportunity to spend an entertaining afternoon at home in the heat of the heating, which is very cold these days.
