For quite some time I had Windows 7 installed on the Macbook Pro to do some of the university practices, but little by little it began to work slowly, very slowly, so slowly that Windows took me no more nor less than about 6 minutes to start and a normal program almost 2. On the other hand, in Snow Leopard everything was more or less correct except for the startup, which sometimes also took longer than necessary.
Summaryn: Before Windows was very slow for me on the Macbook Pro and now it doesnât even install. I tried with several CDs and there is no way.
So, given the situation, I decided to format the hard drive to see if the problem was that some file on the hard drive had been screwed up and was causing the error. After formatting (and zeroing out the entire disk), I reinstalled Snow Leopard and from Boot Camp I created a new partition to install Windows 7, but after following all the steps and the computer restarted once, it showed the Chkdsk indicating that there were errors in the partition and that they had to be corrected. After correcting them, the computer restarted and the typical MS-DOS message âthe computer has not been shut down correctlyâ appeared and immediately sent me to a login screen in which I had to enter the login and Windows pass⊠Which I had not created!
I did all this more than 4 times, with the combined Snow Leopard update (just in case there was any incompatibility with Windows 7) and without it, with 3 different Windows 7 CDs (all original) 64-bit and 32-bit, but the problem always persisted.
Here I am writing this with a bit of despair, because I really donât know what all these problems could be due to. It has crossed my mind that the hard drive may be damaged (it is very rare that errors appear on it after formatting a disc), although it is very rare that in Snow Leopard everything is âapparentlyâ fine, so perhaps it is the RAM or the motherboardâŠ
I still have the computer under warranty, but how do you call Apple and tell it that Windows was slow before and now it wonât even let you start? Wouldnât they cause any problems? What a disgusting thing.
