Iāve been playing the highly anticipated Marvel vs Capcom 3 for a few days after spending quite some time watching videos of it with battles, character presentations, etc. Its predecessor set the bar high with a huge roster of players (56, no more, no less) and enormous fun even for those of us who, like me, are not so fond of fighting games. Marvel vs Capcom 2 was a long game, which you played over and over again because it unlocked things that were truly worth it: characters. In itself, the main incentive of a fighting game is to get more and more characters using the playerās expertise, and when expertise is replaced by the wallet, the equation fails.
For me, Marvel vs Capcom 3 is a game developed from start to finish around the pillar of downloadable content, and that is something that irritates me deeply. It doesnāt seem reasonable to me that a fighting game like this has only 4 unlockable characters or that before its release there are already known packs of characters that will be available through direct download because they are already on the disk⦠locked.
As if that were not enough, the game suffers from tremendous deficiencies in terms of game modes and unacceptable flaws in its design. To begin with, the online games are organized in rooms/lobbies where we can enter with our friends and we can also make them open so that anyone can enter. Their main problem lies in their concept: whoever wins continues playing, there can only be one game at a time and there is no spectator mode, only a ridiculous graph in which you can see how the life bars of those who are fighting at that moment go down. This means that those who are not playing can wait a few minutes for their turn. A real shame that I hope they solve soon⦠and for free, because otherwise it will be the last Capcom game I buy, vids.

I have not been able to play a single ranked game over the Internet no matter how hard I have tried: it always returned a connection error (I play other games without problems and I have the console set to DMZ, so it is not a port issue).
Something very desperate also happens during the fighting. The characters have an action zone around them, which if you enter, it hits you as if it were touching you. Because of this, situations as surreal as Chun Li is kicking to the left, you are on his right, you approach from behind and he kills you with his shoulder. It has happened to me.
Another important deficiency of the game that cries out to heaven is that when there are several players on the same console, you cannot play online with other friends and the game only detects that there is one player and goes to the menu if you try to invite those who are locally on your console.
Few game modes, not very charismatic characters who are very vocal about appearing in the next Marvel movies and the latest Capcom games, bugs and shortcomings that are too notable,⦠In short, I expected that this game would have come out more carefully, but it is clear that there are games that companies release with clear objectives, and in this case they can be seen by leagues.
