If what youâre waiting for is an analysis of the game, you can stop reading because itâs not my intention to write it, just to speak out against giving abusive notes to this (otherwise) great game and debate a little with those who have played it. Yes, if you havenât played it yet, donât read on because Iâm going to release some spoilers.
The game takes us some time after the second part, when after sinking Jacinto, the humans have no other choice but to throw themselves into the sea, literally, like Waterworld. Dom has become a turnip-loving hermit and a potential suicide after his beloved Maria died at the hands of the Locust.
I think this is where the first problem of the game begins, which is that the intentions of the scriptwriters are seen from afar, killing in a âheroicâ way the only character with whom the player can identify (and neither can). If we look back, we will remember that the Locust put some humans in cages, but nothing is heard of again despite the good resolutions it could have had. (Humans who become Locust, the Locust come from humans after passing through the GOW2 research laboratories, etcâŠ)
On the other hand, in the playable aspect, the first two episodes seemed quite repetitive to me and I consider the third the most salvageable.
The ending of the game, and therefore of the saga, seemed very improvable to me. Basically what it conveys is that of the three races in the world, the worst of all are humans, because as they say in the story:
- The humans started digging and threw inmulsion on the Locust
- The Locust got angry and attacked the humans.
- The Lambent (the inmulsion) who had lived in peace without disturbing anyone, contaminates the corpses of the fallen, which creates a new parasitic race.
- They fight against each other.
- Humans annihilate all other races.
That is, humans start the war and humans end it with genocide. Some bastards, in short, even more so when Marcus decides to cold-bloodedly stab the Locust queen while she is unarmed. A hell of a moral, come on.
And by the way, does anyone know whatâs going on with the âganstaâ president of the refinery? Iâm referring to that totally expendable character who appears as soon as he disappears, threatening us and giving us a hard time. Was it really necessary to include a character as out of context as this one to attract chunguitos to this game?
I donât know if Iâm forgetting something, but these are some of the reasons why I wouldnât give this game a 10 like many magazines and âspecializedâ pages are giving it. A game that overall could be better than the previous ones but that is lost in the details, which could make it much more epic than it is. As maca would say, the game with the least soul of the three.
PDTA: Does anyone know what happened to the Krill? Are they hibernating or something?
