Last June, Offspring released their new album âDays go Byâ. The album is generally quite classic in terms of songs, although there is one that particularly attracts attention because both its rhythm and the elements in it seem to come from the bowels of Katy Perry herself. The song is called âCruising Californiaâ and below you have the video clip.
Going back in time, it is not unusual for Offspring to use more âcommercialâ themes than usual in some songs on their albums since Americana. You can review the commercial songs that could be considered furthest from their style in each of them:

- Conspiracy of One - Original Prankster
- Americana - Pretty Fly
Just because they are different does not mean they are bad, or so the less fundamentalists will think. I think that these songs serve to appreciate the evolution of commercial âpopâ music (rap is always present) and to attract new fans to the group, because at the end of the day, although the difference is noticeable with respect to the bandâs other songs, they can serve as a bridge to all the others (As happened to me, the first song I heard was precisely âPretty Flyâ).
