Si buscas âsoftonic googleâ en Google, te ofrece descargar Google. Descriptivo ejemplo.
I was a Softonic user, but a long time ago, when we still used 56k connections. That was a page that provided great value to the user because it made the task of finding programs much easier. The answer when someone asked you where to download something from was practically always the same: Softonic.
However, for a few years now when someone around me asks me where to download something from, I tell them to download it from the official page and look at the URL of their browser to avoid being deceived. It takes time and effort to make someone not versed in computing understand that the first search result does not have to be the correct one and that is where Softonic takes advantage.
âIf your business model is based on deception, you donât have a good business model.â
Softonicâs SEO is one of the best Iâve seen, but in the end what counts is that its purpose is deception. Deceive the user under a false pretext (big green button that says âdownloadâ using) that, in addition to installing the program they want, it puts shit (adware) on your computer. If your business model is based on deception, it means that you do not have a good business model, no matter how beneficial it may be.
I believe that Google has a great responsibility in the search results it offers and eliminating deception is something that benefits all users. Those of us who have been involved in computing for many years usually know when something is going wrong, but for âadultsâ and children this is still the equivalent of 806 on the Internet.
Itâs a shame because over the years Softonic has received numerous awards for the best place to work in Spain and its offices look great. However, the sad ERE that will affect about 200 people is not the fault of Google, but rather of wanting to obtain the maximum benefit, leaving users aside, forgetting ethics and putting profit before everything else. My solidarity with all the workers of this giant with Google feet.
